The only way this would be bearable is if Mike and the bots were giving their commentary. I guess it does make a half-decent attempt at social commentary with the alien's speech about war, weapons, etc.

But even for 1959 this movie is cheap. Interestingly enough though, while watching I was formulating a quality re-make in my head that I may attempt to write just for fun.
