Pretty much what I expected. That can be a good thing or a bad thing. Pixels is a typical Adam Sandler film with a little too much leaning on nostalgia to get through the film. Brenner (Adam Sandler) is a has been.
He along with his friends Cooper (Kevin James) and Ludlow (Josh Gad) used to be very good at games back in the 80's. Unfortunately, Brenner never went after anything in life and is currently a in house installer of tv's and surround sounds.
Cooper went off to become the President of the United States, and Luwlow went off on his own and has a pretty sad life being a conspiracy theorist. When aliens attack the earth using the form of video games from the 80's its up to Brenner and the crew to step up and save the world.
That's pretty much the plot. It's paper thin and not much really happens. The film also stars Peter Dinklage as Eddie a rival of Brenners who teams up with them and also Michelle Monaghan as Violet who is a Colonel working with the team to get rid of the aliens and a love interest for Brenner.
It's just really dumb. The action sequences work, but the characters are barely likeable and overall the movie is a forgettable one. Worth a rent only if you are interested in the subject matter.
