I was amused by the quips and things. It's not Archer level writing but it's still Sandler as his buddies. I think they really do just make stuff to hang out and make money doing it as long as it's the same crew and doing something kinda fun.

He makes movies meant to entertain those lucky few who had a close knit group of friends with their weird quirks and managed to keep those friends through life. Or at least that's exactly how Sandler's films appear(l) to me.
