This movie isn't perfect, by any means. I mean, yeah, the concept of an alien invasion is overdone and using old arcade games seems like they're feeding off of people's nostalgia, but I don't think it deserves the low ratings.

Though the jokes were hit and miss, when they hit, they got a laugh out of me. The effects are pretty good, considering the fact they're CG. I liked the characters, and having some popular actors definitely works too.

I feel that people give this movie a bad rep because Adam Sandler is in it. This is not on the same level as Jack and Jill. If you like older games and alien invasion movies, give this one a watch. You might enjoy it more than you think you do.
