Review of Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) by Dorian G — 17 Jan 2018
Not quite as good as the first 2, but still fun. It makes jokes on its own expense (noting characters that don't make sense, or are missing), and it's past musical experiences.
The music is again good, but I feel like they ran out of the best songs in the first 2 films.
The male romantic interests are not interesting, and they don't sing, so they almost don't need to be in the movie. I really could have done without them, I don't think the little love stories helped at all.
The appearance by Lithgow was nice, with enough seriousness and humour to make it worthwhile.
The plot actually worked, as they were able to throw in enough humour to make it believable. There was one fight sequence near the end that was excellent, thanks to the wacky plot.
As a close to this trilogy, it's excellent, although, I think number 2 is still my favourite.
