Review of Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) by Riley N — 28 Dec 2017
Pitch Perfect 3 is a below average ending to a pretty average movie trilogy and in my opinion is the worst of the three movies. I am a big fan of the first Pitch Perfect movie and wasn't so much of the second so I came into this one not knowing what to expect and boy was I disappointed.
In my opinion this one is the worst of all the Pitch Perfect movies. The only reason I gave this movie a little light of day is because I chuckled at a few moments and the conclusion to the franchise was heart warming.
The main plot for this movie is just plain boring like we've seen the exact same thing in the last two movies and the new sub-plot was so irrelevant and felt rushed at times like if you're gonna fit a sub-plot in there at least give it a little bit of depth.
Anna Kendrick isn't too bad in this movie as always and Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins provide the needed comedy relief in this movie but other than that I found Rebel Wilson getting annoying in this movie and she had a few one liners but for the most part when they were trying to make her funny the theater was dead silent.
Hailee Steinfeld was okay but with her talent I would've liked more than okay from her. I enjoyed Brittany Snow in the last two movies but I found her awkward in this one and she had 0 chemistry with the guy she flirts with all movie.
The singing parts impressed me there were a few cool mash-ups and singing scenes. But overall okay writing and below average directing lead to a movie that was boring and didn't really know what kind of movie they were.
