Review of Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) by Michael O — 22 Dec 2017

I loved PP 1 & 2. Couldn't get the songs out of my head. Loved the characters, the humour and even story. This one didn't hit any of those points. The songs were mediocre (bringing in real instruments were a mistake), the characters felt numb and lifeless, unlike their past incarnations. It was funny in parts but overall the comedy just wasn't on the same level as the previous films and the story was ridiculous.

It was enjoyable in parts but having loved the previous two I was very disappointed and left the cinema wondering what it was I'd just seen because it definitely wasn't what a PP movie should be. Ultimately I laughed a couple of times but I'm glad I have a cinema card and didn't have to pay.
