Review of Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) by Ian G — 19 Jun 2015
The Pitch Perfect no doubt owes its existence to the 5 season run of Glee and from what I know hits alot of the same beats in terms of picking several well known songs to be done at various accapella competitions across the US and in the case of the sequel "underground" and in Europe as the Belles are attempting a come back of sorts after a "scandalous" appearance at the Kennedy Center with rebel Wilson flashing the president.
A lot of the in between performance segments are kept pretty simple and cute if a bit shallow since they are aiming just for entertainment, but for what its worth if you just got in for some decent renditions of your back pop catalogue its entertaining in a superficial way.
Kendrick is cute as always although would be great to see her get some meatier rows again after her breakthrough role in Up in the Air and 50/50, and who knew Hailee Steinfield could sing?
