Review of Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) by Cameron E — 02 Aug 2015
Hopefully this one delivers as I loved the first one - 09/09/2014.
Review:
Though it's not as fresh as it's original in slight raunchy, unique humor, it's still does what every great sequel should do, moves the characters forward and develop them.
The girls all shine here with Anna Kendrick taking a step back to allow the Brittany Snow and more of the supporters to shine and lead. The musical numbers are fun and more punching than the first with excellent use of the Riff-Offs and previous players brought back to create a fine continuity, being a highlight.
The villains work well though Becca shares a confusing plot point with the villain lead however overall this sequel is completely satisfying, earning it's right to exist and is fresh enough for it to constitute being a series.
I look forward to the third one wrapping up a very satisfying trilogy of musical comedies. 4/5.
