Review of Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) by Antonio G — 17 Sep 2015
C+ If your some teenage girl your going to dig that crap out of this film but for the rest of us, this film just feels like the unnecessary sequel that mas made just because the first one was a huge hit. I enjoyed the first Pitch Perfect and with the sequel, it's the exact same plot as the first one where something emberassing happens with the Bellas, they work together, struggle and win. It's not a spoiler because it doesn't matter really. The singing in this movie was good by everyone, Anna Kendrick is great in the film freling like Mellisa McCarthy 2.0. Also the film has a another plot where Kendrick get's a job interview and meets his boss who is the most charasmatic and funniest performance and just made me laugh every time he appeared. You want to see more of him but instead, the film does what the previous film did as well which has girl time and bring back characters from the previous films when that just feels lazy and unnecessary. The jokes of mexican and asian just beat over your head with the film feeling sloppy. In the end, the movie was well acted, had good singing inculding like an acapela off between different groups which was the best part of this movie. Despite that and some other positives, this movie just feels lazy, with overused and no real purpose to it with this film being exactly like the first one.
Rating: 44% and a C+.
