Review of Pitch Black (2000) by Rob A — 09 Jan 2014
The Verdict: 3.9 Stars/ 5 Stars.
Action-packed, thrilling, and obviously low-budgeted. Pitch black has an interesting premise and lives up to it despite its limitations. Sometimes feeling that the film is out of control, leading to a popcorn movie brainless madness, it turned out surprisingly that the creators knew well what they are doing. And these things leads to unpredictability of the characters and the situation, which many low budget sci-fi popcorn movies fail to give. With it's substance quite exceeding what I expected for a popcorn flick, like character development, the brain content and the suspense (except the cheapness, and lack of eye-candy monster madness), Pitch Black is pretty good for its genre.
