Very underrated Sci-Fi film that introduces one of the biggest badasses in film. Set up in the vain of classics like Alien, Pitch Black brings a group of people to an unknown planet that has a unique characteristic.
The solar system it resides in allows for a perfect eclipse every 22 years. This just so happens to be the time when they land on the planet (what are the odds). The writing is somewhat cheesy and predictable but the overall ride is entertaining.
I own it and watch it every time it comes on TV.
