Review of Pistol Whipped (2008) by Morgan M — 06 Apr 2008
One of the best (most surprising) Steven Seagal direct-to-DVD movies to emerge in the past few years. This one casts the former big screen action star as an elite ex-cop with a tarnished past (heavy drinking, failed marriage, alcoholism) who is given the opportunity to clear his debts in exchange for assassinating a notorious, big-city gangster.
While not up to par to his earlier work, Pistol Whipped is a solid effort from Seagal, who seems to put a tad more effort into this one than his previous DTD titles. The action, story and direction are all rather polished, so this was a pleasant surprise!
