Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) by Dr. F P — 17 Mar 2013
Jack Sparrow's character is such fun and very memorable, the romanticized pirates will always be popular with me because really I just want to be one myself. Johnny Depp is so good in his role that I forget someone is actually playing him.
It is enjoyable but I couldn't see myself as a kid having the patience with the beginning. It's a greatly entertaining blockbuster, with all the whistles and bells you'd expect. It may have little heart in the direction department but you might as well have a blast with it.
I think if it weren't for Pirates then Johnny Depp wouldn't be able to make some of the productions he has today so i'm grateful for that.
