Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) by Andrew L — 16 Apr 2013

As this film nears it's tenth anniversary, I continue to find that I love this movie. It's one of those few popcorn movies that I actually like, and let me tell you, Johnny Depp's acting is amazing (this is the first movie I ever saw with him in it).

The story is well-paced and developed; the swordplay is amazing what with most of the participants being taught by the great swordmaster himelf, Bob Anderson; the characters are all enjoyable and developed in their own little ways, and finally, the climatic ending which happens not to be the real ending is just so mind-engrossing and plain bad***.

I have absolutely no particular arguments against it that require addressing. It's a thrilling movie that I'm sure will be remembered for years to come.
