Swash buckling adventure and the best of it's franchise so far. It's got ships, pirates, explosions, sword fighting, gold, which is everything I would want in a pirate film. Johny Depps antics is something to behold and the film doesn't have to rely on it as much as it's sequels do.
Geoffrey Rush is equally suited to the role of a pirate and makes good screen time. More enjoyable as a stand alone film than a saga but the rest are still worth a watch if you want more of the same. Jack is a very funny character acting odd whilst somehow not appearing as putting on too much.
Great special effects also.
