Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) by Edd J — 26 Jun 2013
Jack Sparrow is not meant to have his own movie, he was never written that way. Aside from this obvious cash cow focus on Johnny Depp's high level of exposure, On Stranger Tides is a shockingly dull, overly complicated movie with an empty plot.
It clocks in at over two hours for no reason other than to pad out the worn out humour from Captain Jack, most of the things that evolved Captain Jack as a person have vanished and oh God, they are going to do another one.
Guys, I know it's hard to not go see a Johnny Depp movie, but don't fall for it this time.
