On Stranger Tides was, in my opinion, the best movie in this franchise and because I never really enjoyed the trilogy. My favorite moments was primarily Jack Sparrow and his strange mishaps in his epic adventures. Will and Elizabeth's story was great but it dragged on in the trilogy. Don't get me wrong, all of the movies are still good. Even the first one still holds up as one of the best movies related to pirate. Let's not also forget that this is by far the latest movies containing pirates nowadays and I love the lore of the pirates. But not as much as I have the real passion for science fiction.

In this story, it's like a huge wrapping up of what has been left off from the trilogy. This time, Will and Elizabeth's son is on a mission to save his father from his curse. But of course there are mishaps along the way: Meeting the ever so awkward and drunkard Jack Sparrow and a beautifully new character named Carina Smyth, who is played by Kaya Scodelario. Barbossa plays a good amount of role in this movie especially but the lack of context between him and his greatest treasure was a bit of a let-down. I wished there was more to it but maybe, just maybe he can come back somehow. I mean, if these other characters can return then why not Barbossa?

Dead Men Tell No Tales is another epic adventure and of course Jack Sparrow stumbled in the middle of all the troubles. Javier Bardem who played as Captain Salazar is another typical and mystical villain for the story. But of course, all of these actors did an amazing performance!

My only gripe about this movie is that it's an epic adventure. While it is an okay thing and it's been like that since the first movie but I wish there's more context of everyone's lore. Maybe it's too much to ask for giving us more from out of these characters but it would be really nice to see more of Jack Sparrow's past, for example.

Other than that, it's another good movie but I'm afraid I have no interest in collecting these kind of movies. Maybe when Disney finally puts the franchise to a rest or perhaps there is an ultimate collection of all of them then I'll probably consider. I like to think these Pirates of the Caribbean movies are great for occasional watch sessions. But nothing like I can handle with Star Wars or even Lord of the Rings. Where I'm okay doing a marathon with those kind of movies. If there's another moving coming then of course I'm up for another pirate adventure!
