Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) by Bubbs R — 14 Jun 2017
Dead Men Tell No Tales! The famous line spoken in the popular Disney Attraction is now the subtitle for the newest Pirates film. This film was definitely one of the better Pirates films. The plot has Jack teaming upwith Will's Son and a female astronomer to capture the trident of Poseidon before Captain Salazar retrieves it and takes over the seas. It was a fun ride all the way through and it had barely any boring moments. This film had a balance of comedy and action also. Johnny Depp did excellent again as the drunk dim witted Jack Sparrow. He had most of the funny lines in this film. Javier Bardem was excellent as the evil Captain Salazar, a pirate filled with rage after Jack Sparrow took his life. Geoffery Rush did excellent coming back to play Barbosa. Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario did excellent as Henry and Carina, the future characters of the franchise. The soundtrack fit so perfectly and the cinematography was beautiful. The only negative was that it felt a little teeny bit long. Overall, Dead Man Tell No Tales is an excellent addition to the Pirates Series.
Rating: 8.6/10.
