Dead Men Tell no Tales - Dead franchises tell tales no one is interested in. The last Pirates movie actually benefited from adapting to a well-known story, this one is a messy affair which is further hindered by dreadful performances, most troubling of all being that of Johnny Depp.
There comes a time when a beloved character needs to be put out to pasture but because this series is such a money-spinner, the over-saturation may well continue for decades to come.
