The Pirates franchise is just about running on fumes, and I can see why audiences and critics have grown tired of Jack Sparrow and the goofy gang schtick. Somehow I was still able to enjoy this one to a certain degree despite it being a mess, where the plot takes us one place, then unexpectedly to another, making it all feel unfocused.
It remains ridiculous with some zany adventuring and hi-jinx that may appease some audiences while boring others.
