In this delightful and awkward film, fans of the hit series are invited to a conclusion of Will Turner's dreaded curse and opens up the series to future adventures. Our expedition behind with Henry (played by Brenton Thwaites) the son of our past heros Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner, sets out in a quest for find a hidden trident that can break his fathers curse. The beginning is slow, and it takes the movie awhile to want to root for the characters on screen. The movie then brings Captain Jack Sparrow on screen. His entrance into the movie is only slightly impactful, and most of the time you are felt wishing this was an original pirate movie and didn't include the same characters you had seen a million times. The again, how many storylines can you get out of a theme park ride?

The story has its ups and downs, but eventually we are given the same story as before. Johnny Depp + small romance + magic sea villain + one big showdown = a good idea?

If you are looking for a movie to see, but don't want a packed theatre this is the movie. There are a few lighthearted moments, and the ending is spectacular.

All in all, this is no first rate film, and they should definitely stop making Pirates of the Caribbean movies and focus on another franchise. However, it does deserve to be a film on movie night.
