Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) by Jnotr — 30 Oct 2017
Entertaining, funny, full of action and adventure, emotional, this delivery is a roller coaster. Sandberg and Rønning manage to take this film forward with a very good narrative that never gets boring.
The CGI is impressive, although this does not reach the height of At the End of the World (which in 2007 was nominated for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects). The return of Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley is excellent and they achieve, in my opinion, the best moment of the saga.
The only thing that I did not like was Jack Sparrow who here is totally silly, while in the previous installments he managed to have moments of seriousness that he never gets to have here.
