Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) by Loveeland — 26 May 2017
Yes it is entertaining. It has humor, it has the classic ridiculous Jack Sparrow action scenes. Aside from that, it is horrible. The story is incredibly sloppy, unimaginative, and ridiculous (there is a scene reminiscent of the last action scene from Fast Five, only replace the cars with a carriage, and the vault with a large house).
The whole idea of the enemy crew being dead is a bit overplayed at this point, as I'm pretty sure they've been that way in every Pirates movie. This crew is forgettable to say the least. I think the movie overall was poorly made, and doesn't deserve the favorable user reviews it is getting.
If a funny, over the top action film with a terrible story, mediocre acting, and sloppy writing is your thing, then this movie is for you.
