This wasn't a bad film. After God knows how many years, they fixed all the crap they heaped on their audience in the previous three films, especially the second and third. This is what happens when a pretty good film franchise takes its audience for granted and throws crap on the screen.
An otherwise good movie like Dead Men Tell No Tales opens to relative obscurity and languishes. The stink of a bad reputation taints a film that works. This is not a great movie, but it's good summer entertainment.
