Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) by Brian W — 16 Sep 2017
Its obvious now that disney has no idea what made the first movie so great or the next two OK.
Somehow they keep raising the steaks whale lowering the agency, for half this film it felt as if all the characters were just bumbling around not to mention all the lose ends, deus ex machina, cardboard singly motivated hero's, unlikable mary sue's, all powerful and yet useless mcguffins, pointless supporting characters such as the witch that's established does nothing then disappears and embarrassingly poor world building.
But most disappointing of all they have taken a silly yet charming, witty and cunning lead character with complexity and turned him into the most basic of all jokes an unlucky slapstick.
