Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) by Johnny T — 16 Jul 2017
It never reaches the heights of the original or the first two sequels, and its sometimes convoluted plot could certainly could have gone in many other, more productive directions, but "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" benefits from the comitted performances of Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites, state-of-the-art special effects, the brief but highly welcoming return of two beloved characters, a sad goodbye to another mighty pirate, and hints of a future and final chapter at the end.
If anything of this does not convince, it can be said at least that it soars as a huge improvement over its muddled and poorly-conceived predecessor.
