Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) by Chris B — 04 Sep 2017
(I'm not putting any spoilers in this review! It is simply reasons to see this movie and not be steered away by the "critics".
Well the 150 minute+ movie was criticized for being too long and drawn out and despite the fact that I think they overdramatized that I believe it was dragging along near the middle. Despite that fact everything else was wonderful!
Critics have been saying that Johnny Depp's character Captain Jack Sparrow isn't "fresh or new" but I think that is hardly a reason to denounce the film. Yes during a sequel (which just that fact alone gets negative comments) you get to know the characters and how they act. My God the character is genius and so unusual I still find it amusing and entertaining, as did everyone in the theatre that I saw it with. I believe that the acting was quite well from everyone else as well. The special effects were wonderful and CGI use was stunningly real. Just please don't go into the movie expecting an ending and all your questions to be answered because it won't happen. This is another reason critics have been bashing the movie but it simply makes me excited because I have something to look forward to next summer.
