At first I didn't like this movie at all. Too long and too confusing.
Then I watched it a second time, and it didn't really clear any of the confusion up, but I did realize that you don't really need to understand any of it, that's not the point; it's just a fun ride.
Watch the awesome action scenes, the ships, the Kraken, and Davy Jones' awesome beard. And don't overthink it.
