Review of Piranha 3DD (2012) by Michael H — 25 Sep 2012
Now, I'm gonna kick off this review with the obvious. This movie was bad. Poor plot and filled with nothing but nudity and violence thrown right in your face (even more so in 3D) However, with a title like Piranha 3DD, that's kind of what you'd be expecting and that's exactly what I was hoping for.
I've also heard alot of people complaining about the special effects in this film. That I simply do not understand. The CGI is pretty much on par with it's predesessor and on top of that, DD has gone to the effort to use pupperty and animatronics. Which is fantastic!
The plot follows Maddy, a young girl whos step father has turned her family waterpark into some kind of x-rated strip club pool thing. Anyway, this former waterpark has now been invaded by the pre-historic killer piranhas on it's grand opening. Christopher Lloyd and Ving Rhames return with brilliant cameos, but the best has to be Hasselhoff's hilarious performance as Hasselhoff.
Piranha 3DD is definately not the kind of film to be taken seriously. This is the kind of film you put on if you just want to sit back and watch some boobs, gore and David Hasselhoff.
