Lame acting, poor effects and an even more anemic and outlandish premise (now at a water park instead of actually being on open water) than its predecessor immediately lands Piranha 3DD in hot water from the outset.
The two Davids in the film (Koechner and Hasselhoff, the latter in a cameo) alongside Ving Rhames may make this not so awful, and while it's not completely bereft of any self-referential humour, the carnage and mayhem are just not as memorable as Alexandre Aja's original remake.
