Review of Piranha 3D (2010) by Kerwin M — 03 May 2012
Equal parts gory, hilarious, and downright ludicrous, Piranha is one of those movies you simply watch to see the newest technology in depicting death. If you are like me, and sometimes rent certain movies just to see how gruesome and bloody it can be, knowing that the plot (if there even is one) is completely irrelevant, then this is a movie I would recommend to you.
This movie was obviously made with the word "parody" in mind. The story, or lack thereof, is stupid, but that is exactly what the filmmakers intended to do with it. The only reason I gave this three stars was because most of the deaths are entertaining to watch, and relatively satisfying.
Anyone who rents this expecting to watch a horror film with a good storyline will be extremely disappointed, and more than likely really pissed off. But, if you are wanting to just rent a 90 minute gorefest, this is one of the first films you should consider.
