Review of Piranha 3D (2010) by Reece M — 15 Mar 2012
Alexandre Aja is one of the best contemporary horror directors who knows exactly what kind of movie he wants to present, in this case a campy B-horror film about piranhas eating Jersey Shore effigies. Excess does not even begin to describe Piranha 3D, with gratuitous amounts of nudity and buckets of blood throughout.
One cant help but think that half the budget must have been spent on fake blood. Aja uses the 3D to hilarious effect and makes a very well-made campy, gory horror schlock with a massacre scene so overdone you will be in tears from laughter.
..at least I was.
