Review of Piranha 3D (2010) by Joetaeb D — 19 Feb 2015

Piranha 3D is a nearly worthless. Now yes, I realize it's supposed to be terrible, but it just does it too well. I failed to see the comedy in the film. It seems that bad acting was the movie's best joke, really? The movie wasn't clever, it was just tasteless.

Many people will probably reply to my review, but it has lots of nudity, come on, everyone loves nudity. Really?If you want tons of nudity, just go to Google, you could do that for free. I will say that the gore effects are really good though, and the CGI piranhas don't look half bad either, but that doesn't excuse the fact the movie isn't clever or funny in any way.

If you're looking for a good, campy, horror comedy, then watch Slither. That's a film that is entertaining and has plenty of clever jokes. Piranha just seems to think the cheesy acting and pervasive nudity makes a funny film.

I will yet again say that the film doesn't realize that to be a good horror-comedy, you must be clever. Movies like Slither and Scream do clever beautifully, and that's what makes those films so funny, not just constant blood and sex.
