Review of Pinocchio (1940) by Kenneth B — 20 Aug 2010
One of Disney's earliest feature films, Pinocchio has a short run time but it encapsulates everything that that's good about the (best) Disney films. It really comes into it's own with the final third and the scenes on Pleasure Island.
The dark visuals are excellently executed, particularly the disturbing image of a young boy's silhouetted metamorphosis into a donkey.
