A timeless classic (only Walt Disney's second feature) with breakthrough animation on a massive and innovative scale (especially the water effects, backgrounds, multi-plane camera effects, and music), classic characters (Figaro and Cleo provide lovable comic relief), and a song that has become the anthem for the Disney studio.

But it is Jiminy Cricket who steals the show in an episodic story centered around temptation and darkness in the world as well as the goodness that triumphs in the end. May be a bit frightening for younger kids (e.

G., the coachmen's horrifying grin and Lampwick's scary transformation into a donkey). Nevertheless, remains one of the most memorable and brilliant achievements in animation, as well as one of many key examples of what great animated films should be.
