Review of Pinocchio (1940) by Sergio B — 30 May 2011
Pinocchio may be a step down from the gorgeous animation of Snow White, but it makes up for that in story. The plot is simple: A wooden puppet wants to be a real boyâ¦okay, how do you make the audience connect? Well, with the help of Jiminy Cricket of course.
Jiminy is our eyes and ears to the whole scenario taking place as we root for Pinocchio on his way to get back to his father after all the mess he got into. All of us knows what happens, so I will just cut to the chaseâ¦if this doesnâ(TM)t at least make you smile or cry, you truly have no heart (or you might but itâ(TM)s hidden somewhere.
Pinocchio remains one of my favorites after all these years.
