This brilliant animated feature is arguably the greatest of all the Disney films and, in many ways, possesses a narrative of unequaled power within its own line. No movie from my early years had such a potential for delivering important messages, and with poignancy, as this one, and this is only affirmed by the many lessons sprinkled throughout the story.
Everything from the familiar counsel on attending school, to the profound truth that virtues are only obtained through our own efforts to the unforgettable metaphor for the consequences of lying, the messages of this film are effortlessly carried to the audience.
It stands with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as one of the most important animated films ever made, and it is indisputably a cinematic masterpiece.
