Review of Pinocchio (1940) by Dean W — 26 Nov 2009
The 2nd Disney effort was a bit of a letdown due to the declining market because of the 2nd world war, but still an amazing story of a puppet that wanted to be a boy. The detailing in this film is amazing, not the cute film people think it is, Disney had a dark side in the first four, then with Dumbo got more generic and less care went into them (but some of the later ones were great too).
A cinmatic masterpiece, not just for animation but for storytelling and music and character.
