Review of Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982) by Liam A — 01 Jun 2009
All THIS for spitting on a fan... It's more or less amazing that Roger Waters didn't star in this himself. Absolutely stuffed with symbolism and flickering visual ideas, narrated thinly by the awesome music, if anything.
The Gerald Scarfe cartoon intervals are absolutely amazing- flowers representing clits, the british flag merging with a bloody cross- they really make you feel dark stuff. Brilliantly pompous and bloated, so much so I could never sit through this again by choice- it's more or less an initiation to feeling depressed (*with the option to fast-forward and rewind).
