Review of Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982) by Sean S — 19 Jun 2012
I love Pink Floyd to death, and The Wall is a great rock opera. But this "musical" feels so haphazard with such a loose, scattershot plot that it's hard to enjoy the final product. Combined with its ugly animated visuals, it just doesn't function as a vehicle for Pink Floyd's music.
I love expressionism and metaphors as much as anyone (hell, movies are the place for them), but The Wall does not pull it off well at all.
