Pink Floyd is easily one of my all time favorite rock and roll bands and it's nice that their cinematically-suited concept album The Wall, released in 1979, was made into a feature film by Alan Parker and released three years later.

The film is a masterpiece of visual storytelling. I find something new in it every time I see it that I didn't pick up on before, which keeps me coming back for more. I have fond memories of sitting on bed as a teenager with a pair of headphones slipped on, listening to the album and imagining the images it conjures up in my head.

With the film, now I don't have to. It's certainly not an easy film to watch by any means. It's a bold and harsh film at times that challenges you, and it's just fantastically made. I'm so glad that Roger Waters chose to turn it into a narrative film rather than a rock concert film.

It would have been great, but not nearly as memorable. The music is fantastic, the images are striking and the overall narrative is strong. It's also a film with powerful themes that's also quite beautiful.

It's one of my favorite films and you owe it to yourself to check it out if you haven't seen it already.
