Review of Pink Flamingos (1972) by Hunter D — 18 Jan 2010
I'm really wondering how the Hell John Waters managed to get all of these actors and actresses to do they things they do in front of the camera in this movie. I've seen a lot of exploitation movies, movies containing copious amounts of violence, sex, and other acts of depravity.
For years I've heard about how shocking and obscene this movie is, but given how much I've seen, I figured it must be shocking for the early seventies. Now that I've seen it, I can definitely say that this movie pushed all sorts of boundaries in terms of taste.
It even made me run screaming from the couch on a couple of occasions, I can't remember the last time that happened. It's total trash, and I enjoyed the whole thing in the most dubious way possible.
