Review of Pink Flamingos (1972) by Huw G — 29 Jul 2013
Rightly billed as an excercie in poor taste, Pink Flamingo still retains the same revolting shock value as it did when it was first released. Yet, Waters' film is little more than that, and even its satire seems overwhelmed by the all too graphic approach he employs.
While its cult following is understandable, and its amateurish look somewhat appealing, it is undoubtedly an uncomfortable film to sit through and too eccentric to be truly enjoyed.
