Review of Ping Pong Playa (2008) by Sara F — 08 Sep 2008
One of the better movies I've seen about Asian Americans that doesn't piss me off. It didn't "try too hard" like some of these other films about stereotypes and cultural gaps. It was more subtle. It got some chuckles from me, and it was enjoyable. The main character can be annoying at times, but he's hilarious. I like what they said about Miss Chinatowns.
They need to find people who can speak real Chinese (like other movies about Asian Americans). Really, find some real Chinese speakers.
