Pineapple Express is the best stoner flick to come out since the original Harold and Kumar hit the theaters. As a comedic trio, it would be harder to assemble a better cast than Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, and James Franco.

Briefly, the plot revolves around Dale Denton (Rogen), a hapless process server who suddenly finds himself embroiled in a murder gone sour. With the help of his dealer (Franco) and his dealer's shiftless friend (McBride), Dale must put the finger on the killers before the the killers make him pay.

The humor is consistently funny throughout, due in no small part to an excellent supporting cast. Amber Heard is believably pouty as Angie, Dale's overtly young girlfriend. Ed Begley, Jr. also does a wicked turn as Robert, Angie's overbearing father. A few of the scenes are so genuine, you'd swear that the cast was smoking some of the props. The movie's final act is a bit of a letdown, if only because it's too low-budget to be considered a great action sequence, and too rambunctious to be truly stoney.
