Review of Pillow Talk (1959) by James R — 15 Jun 2009
Old romantic comedies turn out to be much better than any new one. In the second pre-sixties romantic comedy I've seen in a week, Doris Day is enchanting and Rock Hudson is a fucking pimp. It starts off a little rough, with a touch of some dated screwball, but as soon as the two leads start interacting.
.. it's magical, their chemistry. Not flawless, but better than any rom-com since at least the eighties.
