Timothy Spall could have easily been typecast as the Brummie electrician in Auf Wiedesehn pet. Instead he manages to get under the skin of each character he plays.
In this film, he plays Albert Pierepoint, a hangman. A man who prides himself on his ability to hang a man or woman as quickly or as efficiently as possible.
The film has its own quiet face and shows Albert over the years slowing becoming more affected by the job.
