Review of Pieces (2013) by Joshua H — 05 Jul 2011
As it turns out, Americans aren't the only ones who can make bad slashers! Pieces is filled to the brim with hilarious (often unintended) moments, like the kung-fu instructor who randomly attacks this woman walking on the sidewalk and says he did it because of some bad chop suey! The closing scene was some randomly outrageous it had me in stitches.
However, the funniest just has to be the line of dialogue one character says after finding another body (this one sawed in half) in the girls locker room. The character then expresses her feelings for whoever the killer is.
That scene you just cannot top in terms of hilarity. If you want gore, you've got it in excess. There's enough here to make even Fulci proud. Chainsaws tear into flesh with no pull-aways, and the bright red blood spurts like a fountain.
The killer was relatively easy to guess, but who cares? Pieces is still bad fun in every way possible.
