Review of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) by Andrew S — 16 Nov 2007
A valiant effort by Peter Weir to make what essentially feels like a Malick-esque mystery. There is some great camera work here, along with a fine score, I was however taken out of the story by the over-the-top depiction of the girls in question.
They felt overly alien or angelic in a way that hurt rather than elevated this film.
